EXPLOITING THE POTENTIAL OF DIGITALIZATION IN THE MEAT AND FOOD INDUSTRY AND GASTRONOMY
Three partners, one goal: to exploit the diverse opportunities of digitalization in the meat and food industry as well as gastronomy through intelligent IT. Under the brand FOODIGITAL, SLA Software Logistik Artland GmbH develops together with ATTEC Automation GmbH and Wirtshaus Dienstleistungs GmbH (WDL) unique overall solutions that digitize the entire process, from raising the animals over slaughtering and processing up to retail, and that even integrates the gastronomy. "All steps are networked with each other, including through Artificial Intelligence, so that millions of data become valuable information”, reports SLA Managing Director Jörg Brezl. "This process intelligence enables potential to be identified and exploited that would never have been possible without it." In practice this extends, for example, that gastronomy or the retail know more reliably through AI-supported forecasts which and how many goods need to be ordered for the next few days. This not only optimizes the logistics process, but also reduces food waste and improves the CO2 footprint.
At IFFA 2022 in Frankfurt, the Quakenbrück-based software company provided a glimpse into practice. At the joint FOODIGITAL booth, the partners presented, among other things, new impulses and tools for more quality, efficiency and improvement of the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). SLA also showed many exciting results from projects in the field of the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in meat and food production as well as gastronomy with the example of the Hofbräuhaus Munich. The world-famous pub had become the most digital house on the “Platzl” with a custom-fit SLA solution. At IFFA, visitors were able to experience the new gastronomy experience live, in which the production site, high-bay warehouse and pub are intelligently linked and processes are thus controlled automatically.
