FOODFAIR - Artificial Intelligence for the food industry
Three companies, different perspectives and a decisive future technology: Together, the DIL, ÖFK and SLA bundle their expertise and plan a variety of AI solutions for use in the food industry.
New technologies and knowledge transfer create access to a world of tomorrow that will be characterized by smart and self-learning systems. Artificial intelligence (AI) has long ceased to be a trendy word, but is increasingly finding its way into our everyday lives and business. The demand for AI in the food industry is also great. "We want to help shape this change and make the use of AI in the food world usable in the long term," says Jörg Brezl, Managing Director of the SLA.
For this reason, the Quakenbrück-based software company cooperates with the DIL Deutsches Institut für Lebensmitteltechnik e. V. (DIL) and the Österreichischen Fleischkontrolle (ÖFK). Three different perspectives from companies that have been successfully at home in the food industry for many years are bundled. As part of the “FOODFAIR” project, they operationalize the use of AI. "Our aim is to network consistent processes and improve the food industry while taking global values such as transparency, traceability and sustainability into account," says Stefan Mader, Managing Director of ÖFK.
Along the value chain from pasture to plate, there are countless fields of application for optimizing products and services with AI. What they all have in common is their potential to bring transparency, animal welfare and sustainability together and ascribe more importance to them. “Interactive research and sharing our experiences and knowledge will move us forward in the field of AI. We look forward to exciting innovations and modern AI applications that enrich the industry, ”adds Dr. Volker Heinz, director and board member of DIL.
